[STAR is serving as a host for Sacramento Transportation Choices until such time as STC has their own web presence.]
Sacramento Transportation Choices (STC) has scheduled a sharing session on Saturday, June 17, 10:30AM to noon, at Organize Sacramento, 1714 Broadway, Sacramento. We held a sharing session on May 20, and those in attendance thought it very valuable, learning about where potential coalition members “are coming from,” but the group was small and we want to do it again with a larger group. STC is a forming coalition of organizations supporting a better transportation system, with a focus on walking, bicycling and transit, for the Sacramento Region.
Please register for the meeting at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/sacramento-transportation-choices-sharing-session-tickets-6985063513. Tickets are free. We appreciate registration so that we can plan for the number of attendees.
The purpose of this meeting is to have organizations share who they are and what their interest in transportation is. The amount of time will be divided by the number of organizations presenting. Your sharing need not be formal, but if you’d like some guidance:
- What your organization does or plans to do related to transportation.
- Your top three priorities for transportation investments and/or polices.
- Your thoughts about transportation equity and how the coalition can address equity issues.
We also appreciate a brief statement that can be shared with people and organizations that are not present at the meeting. Half page to one page should do it. If you are representing an organization, please also email allisondan52@gmail.com to let me know so that we can plan the time.
Three organizations have provided statements so far:
Other brief agenda items
- strategy session and educational presentation on Measure M (Los Angeles County – Metro – successful sales tax measure) with someone from southern California
- website or blog for STC
Note that a related organization, Sacramento Transit Riders Union, SacTRU, meets at the same location, 1:00PM to 3:00PM, and we think that people interested in transportation choice would also enjoy that meeting.
