STAR Action Team

Note: The STAR Action Team is not meeting in person at this time. The team does have email discussions from time to time.

The STAR Action Team is composed of STAR members who have committed to taking a leadership role in governing the organization and responding to transit issues in the region.

Members in good standing of the Action Team will:

  1. Attend at least 20% of the Action Team meetings during the year. At this time, the Action Team meets monthly on Saturday mornings, but frequency and schedule may change.
  2. Review documents before the meeting for the major agenda items. Time will not be spent at Action Team meetings going over background documents which were available ahead of time.
  3. Respond to votes by email. STAR prefers to vote in person at Action Team meetings, but sometimes votes via email on late-breaking issues of a critical nature.
  4. View the STAR Facebook group and/or blog at least once per month.
  5. Use transit in the Sacramento region at least twice per year.

Action Team members may:

  1. Serve as a liaison to other organizations or agencies, ensuring effective communication between STAR and the community.

Many decisions of the Action Team are by consensus, but when necessary, votes are taken. A potential Action Team member may not vote at the first meeting they attend after expressing a desire to serve on the Action Team, but may participate in discussion and consensus.

STAR maintains an email list for Action Team members. Persons who are not Action Team members will be placed on the Core or Inform email lists. The ‘core’ list is for people who want to be informed of most of the activities of STAR and related to transit in the region, and includes STAR Action Team announcements and agendas. The ‘inform’ list is for people who have some interest in STAR and transit, but not enough time to keep up, and want few emails.
