Our friends at ECOS are hosting regular meeting of the Transportation, Air Quality and Climate Change Committee (TAQCC) on two prominent topics for STAR, the SacRT Forward (route optimization study) process, and the Measure B Coalition. We hope you can join them. Below is their email.
ECOS TAQCC Committee, November 1st |
|
| Please join the Environmental Council of Sacramento’s Transportation, Air Quality & Climate Change (TAQCC) Committee for its regular monthly meeting.
James Boyle, Planning Director for Sacramento Regional Transit, will review the current status of SacRT Forward, which is investigating ways to improve SacRT’s transit network. How should SacRT balance its ridership, connectivity and coverage goals? SacRT’s team has developed two alternative bus networks for comparison: a high coverage network and a high frequency network. Public input on these alternatives will help SacRT design a better bus system that reflects current travel patterns and features improved connectivity.
Ralph Propper (ECOS Pres.) and Dyane Osorio (Sierra Club) will give a progress report on efforts to form a coalition to advocate for a greater transit share in a supplemental Sacramento County transportation tax that may be on the ballot in 2020 (“Measure A-plus”). Current efforts include pressing the Sacramento Transportation Authority to undertake a genuine outreach effort to fairly assess community support for a more progressive allocation of tax revenue from the new tax measure.
