STAR June 8 meeting

Date: Saturday, June 8, 2019

Time: 10:00AM to 11:30PM (NOTE earlier meeting time to accommodate SacTRU’s need to set up for their meeting)
Location: Organize Sacramento, 1714 Broadway
Transit: SacRT Route 51 or light rail Blue Line (please come by transit, bike or walk/roll if possible; bike racks outside the door, and within JUMP bike-share area)
Access: the meeting location is accessible though the bathroom is not

Agenda

  1. Los Angeles Measure M: A brief overview of Measure M, the permanent one cent transportation sales tax that Los Angeles County (Metro) passed in 2016. (10 min)
  2. Future of STAR: Report back on the survey. What is the role of STAR in the transit advocacy community? What are our strengths? How can we have an impact as an all-volunteer organization whose members are already busy with other issues? Who can be our meeting convener (agenda, facilitator, facility liaison)? (40 min)
  3. STAR top issues: We will discuss and select top issues for our efforts in the coming year, based on survey data and discussion of those present at the meeting. (30 min)
  4. Meeting schedule: How often will we meet? Establish the dates for the next six months. This spring we already decided upon continuing our Saturday morning, fourth Saturday of the month, and continuing to meet at Organize Sacramento, so this is just to decide how often. (10 min)
  5. Report Backs: Reports from meetings of agencies and other organizations, since our last Action Team meeting, that are critically relevant to STAR and/or may result in action items. (10 min)
