Californians support housing near transit

The Public Policy Institute of California released a survey of Californians on a variety of issues (PPIC Survey: Californians and their Government) just about the time SB50 was being killed/delayed in the legislature. Here is what people had to say about housing, transportation, and transit:

Six in ten Californians (61%) support requiring local governments to approve new housing before receiving transportation funding. A similar share (62%) favor requiring local governments to change zoning for new development from single to multi-family housing near transit or job centers.

Take a look at the Housing Policy section of the report for more detail.
