Mayors’ Commission on Climate Change

The final meeting of the Mayor’s Commission on Climate Change is coming up on Monday, June 29, starting at 4:00PM. The main agenda item will be adoption of the commission’s report. This joint effort of the City of Sacramento and the City of West Sacramento may be the most important single thing to happen in transportation and transit this year (assuming Measure A in Sacramento County does not go on the ballot), so we encourage you to take a look at the report, and if you agree, to support adoption. The details are at https://www.lgc.org/climatecommission/, including a form for comments ahead of the meeting, the report and technical report, and on Monday, information about how to comment during the meeting.

The report is much more progressive than many people had hoped, and if adopted and then implemented by both cities could make a huge difference in the sustainability and livability of the cities, and as a model, or the region.

STAR has submitted a letter to the mayors and commission.
