Dos Rios Light Rail Station on SacRT Monday agenda

The Monday, November 13 meeting of the SacRT Board of Directors will consider an action or resolution on the Dos Rios Light Rail Station. This station was intended to be a key component of the redevelopment of Twin Rivers housing into the Mirasol Village housing community, ensuring affordability by providing frequent and convenient transit access for residents from an otherwise isolated area to the region’s jobs and amenities. But the major funding source for the station, a state Transformative Climate Communities grant of $43M, is in doubt after delays and mismanagement by Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Authority (SHRA), which is the lead agency for the grant, and SacRT.

The agenda for the meeting has not been released yet, so STAR does not know whether it will support this next step. We will post the agenda item when it is available, and will also provide more background on the issue. Please put the board meeting on your calendar (you can use the STAR groups.io calendar to download individual events, or subscribe to the calendar). You may make comments in person at the meeting, or via Zoom during the meeting, or ahead of time by email. The board agenda will detail these comment options.
