Location: Sacramento Area Council of Governments, 1415 L Street, Suite 300 Sacramento, CA 95814 (special location)
Comments: in-person (most effective); online during the meeting via Zoom https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83793388162 (voice-only option available); or by email to boardcomments@sacrt.com before 2:00PM on Monday
The SacRT board will reconsider the decision to drop the Dos Rios (Mirasol Village) light rail station. You can read the agenda item, which explains how the reconsideration works, and the changed circumstances that allow reconsideration. This effort is being led by board member Rick Jennings, who is a Sacramento City Council member. The most important changed circumstances are that SACOG is expected to allocate $10M of SB 125 funds to the project at its board meeting earlier in the day on Monday, and that Senator Angelique Ashby has gotten involved and promised to support SacRT applications for the additional shortfall funds. Though it is not expected to be controversial, the SACOG board will consider the SB 125 allocation in agenda item 10.
STAR believes that the apparent loss of the Dos Rios station, and this opportunity to resurrect it, is the most important issue this year for transit in the region. We hope that every person who supports better transit, and supports Mirasol Village and other developments in the river district, will comment to the SacRT board in support.
