The Broadway Complete Streets project affects SacRT bus service, Route 51 Stockton/Broadway, and Route 11 Natomas/Land Park, along the section of Broadway between 3rd Street and 24th Street. An earlier post talked about the effects on bus service: Broadway and Route 51, but this one is specifically about bus stops.
At a single location within the project, at the westbound stop just past 18th Street, space was created for bus stop amenities with a long curb for boarding. Thank you! However, just to the west there are narrow sidewalk segments, less than the 48 inches required by PROWAG, so access to this stop is constrained.

At all other locations, it appears that bus stops will be unchanged, with no more space allocated for amenities, and in some cases, perhaps less. The project design document only shows the locations of bus stops, without details, so it is not possible to determine exactly what it will look like when finished. In theory, SacRT is responsible for bus benches and bus shelters, while the city is responsible for trash cans and bike racks, and in particular, the space on which to install amenities.
There was a bus stop near 17th Street that is no longer there. The stop before 19th Street, used for the Blue Line Broadway light rail station, is inaccessible due to construction on the northeast corner of Broadway and 19th Street.
The table below shows the location and amenities at each stop (very sparse amenities), and the apparent changes under the complete streets project. An eastbound stop near 10th Street, up against the wall of the cemetery, would be removed, and a stop eastbound alongside Alder Grove Apartments would be added. Note that the ideal location for a bus stop is PAST an intersection, but there are sometimes reasons for placing it before and intersection.
