SacRT receives more funds for Dos Rios

SacRT was awarded funds from a USDOT RAISE grant towards construction of the Dos Rios Light Rail Station on the Blue Line, which will serve Mirasol Village and other developments in the area. The project includes not only the station itself but realignment of tracks to the station location. The $9.6M grant was summarized as:

“This project will construct a new Dos Rios Light Rail Station along North 12th Street between Richards Boulevard and Sunbeam Street that will connect with the Blue line. The project consists of the realignment of approximately 1,400 feet of track, replacement and relocation of the overhead catenary system, construction of the station platform and amenities, urban station with amenities, solar panels on the shelter roofs, passenger amenities, and Complete Street integration.”

This is only a portion of the total funding for the station, which was estimated at $41M. Some construction is already underway, for utility relocation.

SacRT has not posted on this award yet. When it does, we hope for more clarity on whether this brings the project to full funding or whether additional funds are still required for completion.
