The City of Elk Grove has a webpage on the Blue Line/Bus Rapid Transit Implementation Plan, mentioned in a prior post Blue Line or BRT to Elk Grove. The webpage has more information about the project, including an overview, schedule and map. The map, shown below, indicates the likely alignment and possible station locations for light rail or bus rapid transit (BRT).

The extension of either light rail or BRT beyond Whitelock Parkway is unlikely, as it would serve low density areas, so both ridership and funding would be unlikely. The ‘new zoo’ would never generate enough ridership to justify high frequency and expensive service. But service as far as Whitelock Parkway and the campus of Cosumnes River College Elk Grove Center seems reasonable.
