SacRT Board 2025-03-10

The SacRT Board of Directors next meeting is this coming Monday, March 10. The meetings are held at Q Street Auditorium , 1102 Q Street, 4th Floor, Suite 4600, Sacramento, CA, starting at 4:00 PM. The location is a block away from the 13th Street light rail station, served by Gold, Blue, and Green lines. Comments may be made in person, or via email to boardcomments@sacrt.com, no later than 1:00 PM the day of the meeting.

agenda, 6.1 General Managers report, Overall Performance Scorecard

STAR is particularly interested in the fourth item in the General Managers Report, ‘Strategic Plan Update’ which is SacRT Comprehensive Operational Analysis (COA). This analysis, required under SB 125, will update the Short-Range and Long-Range Transit Plans. STAR will be following this process and providing input as it is developed.

The General Managers Report will also update the board on the new Gold Line schedule, which reflects the failure of SacRT to achieve the 15-minute service to and from Folsom that they had promised for the project.

The General Managers Report includes the Overall Performance Scorecard. Anyone who rides the system knows that this scorecard is inflated, and STAR will have more to say about that in future posts.

Construction of the Dos Rios light rail station is underway. The station area is single tracked at this time, which seems to result in minor delays for Blue Line trains. STAR is very happy to see this project finally underway.

STAR does not see anything compelling or controversial on the agenda for this meeting, however, STAR Action Team members almost always comment on an agenda item or ‘matters not on the agenda’ (item 4). It is important for members of STAR and the public to attend board meetings, even if not speaking on an item. It sends a strong message to the board and to staff that the public is paying attention and cares about transit and SacRT in particular. It is the only thing that can move SacRT towards accountability and transparency.
