Strong SacTown on transit oriented development

This post from Strong SacTown writer Troy Sankey is almost two years old, but we were reminded of it, and want to link to it. There are three parts, and it starts with Transit Oriented Development in Sacramento: Part 1.

Troy lays out the arguments for making residences, jobs, and destinations close enough together than they can be easily accessed by walking, bicycling and/or transit. The series was published during development of the City of Sacramento 2040 General Plan, and includes a number of suggestions for improving the plan to ensure that transit-oriented development actually works for people, and is not just a concept.

Worth a read!
