Public Comments  |  Being Heard (??)

Today’s post is to highlight very real progress made by SacRT Staff to be more inclusive and transparent with the public and to provide explicit responses to public comment.

As of the July 28, 2025 board meeting, there is a standing agenda item where staff will address public comments from previous meetings, and will give status updates on any actions taken to address public concerns.  This agenda item is called, “Customer Service Response to Feedback and Comments”.

General Counsel of SacRT provided context for this new agenda item as a paradigm to be able to not have problems with The Brown Act limiting board and staff action on items presented by the public that are not on the agenda. Big Kudos for Staff being nimble enough to realize that the public comments not on the agenda should not be gated from being actionable, and for implementing this solution.
