STAR has criticized the SacRT FY-2026 (July 2025 to June 2026) 'abridged' budget as missing critical information that the SacRT board, the public, and transit advocacy organizations need to analyze SacRT operations and capital, and provide input to the budget. It turns out that important information we noticed was missed was in fact available and … Continue reading a different approach to the SacRT budget
Update: SacRT FY 2026 operating budget expenses
This is an update to STAR's May 11 post 'SacRT FY 2026 operating budget expenses'. In that post, STAR commented that without any breakout into the various major operating programs, it would be impossible for anyone to determine how operating funds were allocated to the programs, whether these funds were being most efficiently used, and … Continue reading Update: SacRT FY 2026 operating budget expenses
Update: SacRT FY 2026 operating budget revenue
This is an update to STAR's May 11 post 'SacRT FY 2026 operating budget revenue'. SacRT can’t fix S700 announcements
When S700 rail cars approach Gold Line 29th St and 39th St, the announcements and internal displays are often incorrect, saying and showing the wrong stations. This has been going on for months, and SacRT has been unable to fix this. This is unacceptable.

The SacRT FY 2026 (2025-2026) budget is arranged strangely. In the document, actual budget information does not show up until page 17, and includes only 36 pages total. The pages before that are about the agency, not about the budget. If SacRT wants this information to be in the budget document, it should follow the … Continue reading SacRT budget document fluff, and staff report

SacRT budget pieces
The SacRT Board will be considering the 2025-2026 preliminary budget on May 12, 2025. The nature of the budget documents is that they obscure rather than illuminate the information the public would like to know about the budget. The operating and capital budgets are far down the overall document, after a lot of information that … Continue reading SacRT budget pieces
